“… Dearest Sister Lana, you have made my heart so happy in a time of darkness in my life! I thank you so much. I am hoping to grow in the ministry of Christ and be able to help other people come to know Jesus as their Christ also…”
I’m still actively pursuing a healthy spiritual relationship with Christ. If the offer is still there, I would like it if you shared the Word with me to help me on my journey. I would still like your help in my walk with Christ. And if you could throw my name in a prayer circle, please. I’m in a need of a refill of faith. I enjoyed those sermons that you sent. Can you send more? I really appreciate what you are doing! Thank you for everything…”
“… Thank you so much for the Easter card. I put it on my locker and it brightened up the dorm. It was kind of sad too, because a lot of people here didn’t even realize it was Easter, let alone what the real meaning of Easter really is. I had a couple of people say, ‘Man, it’s Easter?’ and I said, ‘Ya, do you know what Easter really is? What the real meaning of it is, what is stands for?’ So I reach in my locker and pull out the letter you wrote me and explain the resurrection of Christ…” .
“… I got your most welcomed letter and it was a good one. I shared it with a few people if that was okay. Thank you very much for all the information that you have sent me about what your ranch provides, and I can tell you now, that if you still have the bed space for me when my time has come, I would love to come and stay there and do what it takes for me to walk the good walk. I do read my Bible every day but would love to learn everything I can know about the Word…”
“… I just want to thank you for the support letter and your letters and cards that you have sent me. I also want to give back by volunteering to groups that help others, be selfless instead of my old selfish person of the past you know…” .
“… I received, ‘Chicken Soup for the Prisoner’s Soul.’ Wow! Thank God for you and thank you for God. I read and re-read the invoice that had your message that the Holy Spirit made you do it. Thank you so much and thank God for spirit filled people like you who spread the love of Christ…” .
GIFTS FROM THE HEART OF PRISON
G.O.D. was deeply moved when we received donation checks from two prison pen-pals that gave so generously.
And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
Mark 12: 41-44
I would like to take this beautiful moment of comprehension to honestly and whole heartedly give or show you my appreciation for the role you have played in my life during this last few months. Thank you for your kind letters and gentle words. Thank you for flashing the light on me on the other side of the tunnel - for showing me the beauty and rewards that await me by doing what is right. Thank you for the scriptures you send along with your letters, they always touch upon a different subject., and the subject always seem to be the appropriate piece of bread that I need at the precise moment. Thank you for sharing a piece of your life with me.
Jesus can and will restore all those who come to Him. This is an excerpt of a speech from inmate, Anthony E. Silva : “... Eventually, after countless years of victimizing myself as well as others, I made the decision on December 12, 2014, to sever my gang ties inside and outside of prison. For the first time in my life not knowing if I made the right decision, I had no other choice but to put my trust in God and allow Him to reconstruct and restore all the damage I caused.... But most importantly for me, being a mentor is building a foundation on trust and being a good friend at all times. Today my purpose in life is to love and serve God and in serving God is to serve God’s people.”
TREASURES IN HEAVEN
Anthony stated in a pen-pal letter to Lana.:
“...You have been a blessing to my life....I can see it in you, you are special and yes, all the souls you have led and continue to lead are stored treasures in Heaven.... I know He has called me to do an amazing work for the furtherance of His Kingdom. I am growing each day. Keep me in prayer.”
